Boutonniere Sugar Bowl with Lid, Ahhhhhh.

After finding the single boutonniere cup, we went back out again.
That time I found four cups and saucers and a sugar bowl with lid!
I'm on the look-out now for more cups and a creamer!
This is fun. This is REALLY fun!

Buzzy Bee

Today I found a few fun things. Some of them are too weird to photograph. Or, so I've been told.
I bought a few dozen old diaper pins. I've NO idea why. My diaper-wearing grandchildren wear disposable diapers. Another purchase was several feet of an aqua silky ribbon. Can't explain it. Also, two luncheon size plates to add to my Yorktown Phaltzgraff collection. Because I had no plates that size. This seemed totally reasonable to me, but caused THGGM to ask why we needed them. NEED? Who said anything about need?
But the Fisher Price Buzzy Bee?!
I bought him because he is just too too cute!
Isn't he?
I'll need only to add a string. And a child. Yes. This will be fun!

And That's My Finial Answer

Today I found the candlestick on the right.
A few months ago I found the one on the left.
In my life time I have purchased and gotten rid of sooo many of these things I have lost count.
BUT, I'm starting to like how they look with a lamp finial placed on top!
Yes. I know. I'm starting to like WAAAY too much.

I Found ONE!

Only one.
For 50 cents.
It made me very happy.
Because,
I am easily pleased!

Pyrex Mixing Bowls

The three bowls on the inside used to belong to my mom.
THGGM found the yellow bowl at an antique mall a few months ago.
It seems to me that the original yellow bowl would have been a little bit 'golder' than this more lemon-y yellow one. But, it works for me!
I used to have all four bowls in pink, that had been THGGM's grandmother's left in her house which we purchased after she died.
All that's left of that set is just the smallest pink bowl.
I'm rather clumsy, if you haven't already noticed.

I HEART Valentine's Day

Hmmm. I do believe that everything in this picture was either given to me or thrifted.
Today I spent some time trying to match swans so their necks and heads would form a heart shape.
Not too cooperative, those swans of mine!
I'll be tweaking this for at least another month.
Hopefully I'll find a few more nice Valentine postcards to slip into the bell garland around the lamp shade.

Crochet Collar

This is what I did with one of my crochet collars I bought yesterday.
Slipped it over a lamp shade!
Love the look.
I'll need to move it around a bit until I find just the right lamp shade for it. Or, simply wait until I find another collar exactly like it since there is a pair of lamps and I've only one collar just like this.

Some Folks Do

A children's music book that is also green! Truly, it was my lucky day.
Love the Stephen Foster song, too. I'd never heard of it before.
"Long live the merry, merry heart"!

Hey! I Can Even PLAY This!

Love finding charming music books for children!

For Famke

For fifty cents I found a Ballerina card game.
One card is missing, and since I know how hard it is to play without a full deck, we will find our own way to use them!
I do have two of those drawing figure dolls (somewhere) so maybe we shall put them to the task first, and then try it ourselves.

I Still Color

No matter what I do, I cannot get the font for this blog to enlarge. Sorry for the difficulty in reading such small print.
Anyway, I found this envelope of pictures to color today!
The pages are loose, but otherwise resemble coloring book pages.
I think there are a few that would make nice embroidery transfers.
In that land of 'someday' I intend to try it and see how it works.

Treasure Hunting Saturday

No REALLY fantastic finds today, just a few GOOD ones.
Like, all the embroidery hoops for less than a dollar.
Beautiful pink ribbon, seven thimbles, and two calligraphy pens with nibs. LOTS of nibs.
A painted guest towel, two crocheted collars (these work nice on lamp shades or as doilies around a lamp base) and a February 1994 Victoria Magazine.
Color me pleased!

Cheap Art

Found this teeny tiny Van Gogh in a plaster frame for 69 cents. Like the print, like the frame, like the artist, like the price!

Graphic Novel?

Lately I've found TinTin to be fabulous bathroom reading.

This copy is in 'like new' condition.

And for 29 cents.

Worn Out Little Leather Shoes

Today found me slowly meandering through the coldest antique mall on earth.
I'm sure of it. Thankfully, while shopping in a winter coat, I'd rather be cold than hot.
Although, today the cold was a bit much.
BUT! The shopping was good!
I found a lot of things for which I was interested in the price. Prices are extremely good at antique malls around here lately. Wish I had money.
Still, I was happy to find these cute little leather shoes. Poor girl. You can easily see that she wore them long after she should have had a larger pair. That reminded me of a little girl I once knew. So, since they were half price, I bought them. I did find one other thing. A large yellow Pyrex mixing bowl that matches the other three bowls my mom had. This one looks a bit newer than her set, but knowing me, I'll age it rapidly.

REALLY Good Thrifting Today

Can't begin to tell you how happy I was to find these stacks of plates!

Until today I only had ONE saucer. Now I have FOURTEEN!
I also added a dozen small plates. I did have four of those, but one was chipped.
Now I shall be looking for a few more dinner plates, a sugar and creamer, and some cups!
Oh, it's so fun to look for stuff. And that giddy feeling when I actually find what I'm looking for? TOO FUN!
They were priced well. Some were even half off. But, they cost me NOTHING because I had a gift certificate!

Three Wigs

These were a fun find!
Especially since my oldest grandson took a scissors to his sisters hair.
She will have choices now!
The wig on the left is real human hair.
The one on the right is really cute.
The wig in the center is a great color.
Of course, I cannot wear them, as I have a really fat head. But, it matches the rest of me so I really shouldn't be surprised by that.
I just LOVE finding cool stuff like this! More treasure for the dress-up box.

Happy Finds!

Made a quick stop at my favorite thrift store today. I COULD have gone crazy there, but I tried very hard to be good. All of this music came to $1.05. Just couldn't resist the one called "Notebook for Betty-Sue Bach". It felt good to get out. I hadn't left my house in ten days. Been sick. Not fun.
