Only When I Cross My Eyes Do I See Two

Wednesday when I went to the thrift store with my sister, I saw that they still had two chairs just like this.
I was SOOO excited (i contain my excitement really well in my real life - not so much on my blog).
I told THGGM all about it, as we have been looking for a pair of chairs like this for years. The style, the color, the slightly worn look, fits well with us - especially the worn look. We have that look down.
Anyway.., he didn't seem interested at all.
Until Saturday, when I pointed out this ONE chair to him.
He LOVED it. Wished there were two, he said.
THERE WERE TWO!!
So, we have a 'new' chair. It replaces the really uncomfortable green one. THGGM had a 20% punch card he'd been hanging on to for something good.
Oh, and that isn't a worn spot on the lower right hand side of the picture. It's kind of shiny material, and the sun is shining on it. When I posted the picture I ran in there to check it out. It's all good.
But, we COULD HAVE HAD TWO CHAIRS.
Not that I'm bitter or anything. No. Not me.
I'm fairly sure that when I talk to THGGM, 9 times out of 10 he hears that sound that the Peanuts characters hear whenever an adult is talking.

Free!

This was free! I like free!
The thrift store around the corner from me had a buy-one-get-one free sale on ALL clothes.
I found a very nice two piece dress, but couldn't find anything else.
This might be because I was just there on Wednesday.
Anyway...
I found this cute yellow rain slicker that will fit some grandchild at some time.

Small Bowls

It seems that I have developed a fondness for small bowls.
This one doesn't exactly match, but in all other areas it fit the bill!
Some times I wonder what I might find if I actually looked CLOSELY at everything in the thrift store.
I don't shop that way. My MO is to walk in and look at everything quickly. (my interpretation of quickly, not THGGM's).
Then, I go back and look at whatever caught my eye the first time.
So far it's working for me.

Queen of Forty-Nine Cents!

Oh! Just LOOK at what I found for only 49 cents!

It's a little sewing kit, with tiny little wooden spools of thread!

Too too cute!

I see some more very cute 'spool people' in my future.
My other finds were a 69 cent muffin tin to use to store and sort tiny found objects and a wooden train set - for me! I might let the grandchildren play with it. Maybe. If they ask nicely.

Red Accents for My Kitchen

I've had some good luck scoring 'red' stuff for my kitchen.
In the past I would at least TRY to be authentic, but, lately I buy things for the 'feel' I get when I see them.
This dinner-ware set met my stringent criteria.
And the price made me feel it even more!

Some of Last Week's Thrift Finds

I even found more for my collection of odd bits!
One can NEVER have too many odd bits.
(or, can one? much to ponder...)

Fun Feminine Flowery Find for Famke!

Whoa! This picture is B.U.S.Y.!
Anyway, I found this at the thrift store last week, still bearing the tag.
I hope Famke likes it.

Oh, Dear.

Without even realizing it, I've seemed to have started a new collection!
Itty-bitty tea sets.
This one was in a baggy for 25 cents.
Can't go wrong for that amount.

And I Didn't Even Know I Was Looking for This!

Found this cookbook at the thrift store last week.
It is in keeping with the much beloved "More With Less" cookbook.
Great thoughts about how people eat simply the world over.
Most from necessity.
I've been reading this at the hospital while my dad recuperates.
