My Saturday Finds!

The little twirly bin at the thrift store is always filled with plastic bags of small toys, usually marked 50 cents.

In a few plastic bags I found all of this treasure!

Can you believe it?
These look like Peanuts characters.  I didn't have any like these.
This angry boy's body is triangular shaped.
These square headed people are cute too!
These two guys are completely made of wood.  I never had any wooden ones before.
Everyone of the Fisher Price Little People had wooden bodies, although most of them have plastic heads.

Yes.  I am easily entertained!

My Weekend Find

I was very sad when Sunday came cold and rainy.  Our plan was to go to the Allegan Antiques Flea Market, but it was so dark to the south of us that we headed north instead.  I found these along the lake shore between Holland and Grand Haven.  And this isn't all.  There are three more canisters and six spice jars.  What a deal.  I have wanted a set for a very long time.  They aren't perfect, but the price was.  And when we went to pay we discovered that they were also on sale.  And yes, I am going to use them.  My Truvia is in the sugar canister and my green tea is in the tea canister.

More Blue and White Spice Jars

The four spice jars on the middle shelf were also a Traverse City find.  They are cute and fit in perfectly.  These were one of those finds that had me singing for joy (well, in my head anyway...) for the rest of the day.

Higgledy Piggledy

Look what I found while on vacation in May!  It's been a busy summer.  I've done quite a bit of thrift and antique shopping, but more often I'm buying practical and kid friendly things.  But I just HAD to show you the adorable baby plate I found somewhere in Traverse City.  Oh, and there is more.., of course, there is more.  So stay tuned.

Just ONE More

Yesterday I found another spice jar to add to my collection.
I really like the three matching ones on the top shelf, but since it is highly unlikely to find a deal like that again, I'm perfectly happy to be looking for spice jars that do NOT match.
So I bought the one on the middle shelf and to the far right.
Cloves.  I do love cloves.

Added Another Swan

This blue swan planter has been at a local antiques mall for years and years.  When I first started admiring it the cost was much higher.  Yesterday, it was reasonable so it is now mine.
I can see that I have to balance out the color on these shelves a bit, but it sure does look like the blue swan is "at home" on my breeze-way.

Twenty-five Cent Saucers

The thrift shopping hasn't been the greatest for me lately.  Not that I'm putting a great deal of effort into it.  But I was thrilled to find eight Johnson Brother's Snowhite Regency saucers for 25 cents a piece.  My plan is to make them into cupcake stands.  I've got at least eight glass candle sticks I can glue them to.  And, they will match my china!
