Just ONE More

Yesterday I found another spice jar to add to my collection.
I really like the three matching ones on the top shelf, but since it is highly unlikely to find a deal like that again, I'm perfectly happy to be looking for spice jars that do NOT match.
So I bought the one on the middle shelf and to the far right.
Cloves.  I do love cloves.

I have a bit of blue and white myself...including a few "odd" spice containers, I think. If I can remember where I last saw them, I may have to get your address and send one or two your way...I MAY have a "cinnamon".

How much weight is that shelf holding? Now THAT was a good buy. Of course who ever installed it is awfully priceless! ;)

How nice! I only have three vintage spice jars, so not really much of a collection. I enjoyed seeing yours!

Hi! Love both of your blogs! Your grands are adorable, and I like how you incorporate your little daily stories. We are definitely kindred spirits in that I, too, love to be home, love to read, love thrift stores. I have some of the same calendars you used to make the heart chain and I saved mine, too. I relate when you said thrift stores are to you what Disney World is to normal people. Perfectly stated.

Cloves are THE spice of the northern provinces of the Netherlands, must be your heritage, I love them too, even more then vanilla, nutmeg or cinnamon. Years ago I smeller a rose, name forgotten, and to me it smeled like pineapple and cloves. Must see if the taste of those two combined is as lovely as that smell. DM

Yes, it was a nice taste, I just warmed some pineapplejuice with one clove, let it sit till cool, then poured over a hole tin of pineappleslices in a glass bowl, let sit for three hours and it was like enhancing strawberries with a bit of pepper, mostly a taste by smell then by mouth (see comment above this). If you can not find more identical blue jars, go for the most different blue jars, iow try collecing as many motives as you can find, while still searching for more identicla to the three on the top shelf. I do, i have four spinning wheels , I learn to spin via the web, 10 shandspindles (I almast master that technique) 3 sewing machines (my moms 1887 one, my first one and m last one until now). pais od scissors, knitting needles, but, I mus confess, I draw the line at husbands, still the same after 40 years, not a glimpse of an earch for another one ;-). Do about 15 crossstitch kits count or a hundred mans ties to make a wuilt someday? DM
