Twenty-five Cent Saucers

The thrift shopping hasn't been the greatest for me lately.  Not that I'm putting a great deal of effort into it.  But I was thrilled to find eight Johnson Brother's Snowhite Regency saucers for 25 cents a piece.  My plan is to make them into cupcake stands.  I've got at least eight glass candle sticks I can glue them to.  And, they will match my china!

Pie Bird

It's difficult to photograph things under glass.  But, my most recent purchase was this lovely ironstone pie bird.  The twig and the nest are bits from the yard.  The dome, doily, Scrabble letters, and hymn book page are thrift finds.  The eggs are pistachios that wouldn't open.

Bailey's Creamer

Three weeks ago I found a Bailey's creamer.

It was priced WAY too high.

Two weeks ago I found this Bailey's creamer, and it was priced just right.

And now?

Now I shall be on the look-out for a Bailey's sugar bowl.

My favorite thing about these?  When I take a picture of them my camera asks, "Did someone blink?"

Why yes, someone did.

A Few Blue Things for My Blue Things Shelf

As unbelievable as it seems, I HAVE gotten rid of some of my collection of blue dishes.

Since I don't have a lot of room for anything more, I'm a bit more picky.

Recently I found the 'pepper' spice jar that is now on the center shelf.  This was at an antique mall and the price was very good.  After I bought it I found a bunch of similar spice jars for three times as much, so I think I did pretty good!

I also found a small tea pot with a small cup and saucer.

Of course, I shall be tweaking this shelf forever.

Tinker Toy Find

I found a box FILLED with Tinker Toys over the weekend.  They were neatly sorted.  And although they don't show in this picture, still have the original green cardboard pieces that make the 'windmill' parts.

Amazingly how well-preserved these are.

Although these did not come in the original box, I already have two.

I love how old things look in glass jars.  Don't you?

For My Pretty Pink Bathroom

It isn't often that I find something for my pretty pink bathroom.

But I found her, and she looked like she would be happy to hold something for me in her sweet little basket.

I'm not sure what yet.  Q-tips would be the obvious choice.  But they are tempting to the little boys and I don't want them falling into the pretty pink toilet if they were to climb up to get some.

So most likely I shall fill her basket with lavender.

She has an honest face.  I think I can trust her.

Free As Ceramic Birds in a Wooden Cage

For some time now I've had my eye out for a smaller bird cage.  I saw this one a few weeks back and wished it were mine.  Last weekend I had a wee bit of cash to spend on me, and since I've been trying to spring it up in here I bought it.  It now sits on my piano.  Wouldn't it be nice if I took a picture of what the top of the piano looks like now?  Yes.  That would be nice.  But the top of the piano is also where I put everything I don't want little people to mess with.  So it's a mess up there.  But soon, soon I'll get a better picture.  I sort of promise.

Thrifted Robins

Since I haven't seen a real Robin yet this year, I dug into my stash of bird pictures.  I need to be reminded that Spring IS coming.
Hopefully, I'm back to updating this blog on a more regular basis.  One CAN always hope.
