Ohhh. I Like This!

I was happy to find this nice copy of Emily's Quest.
And, it's green!
I do LOVE a green book.
And L. M. Montgomery?
Ohhh. I DO like this!
The cover is very nice too. Just that bit of damage that appears in the lower left corner.
I remember reading somewhere that L. M. Montgomery once said that the "Emily" series was the most autobiographical of all her books. I really enjoyed the series.
Maybe I should read it again.

Windmill Tin

This great cookie tin was waiting for me at the thrift store yesterday.
It was mixed in with the other more recent tins.
All of them marked a dollar.
It's large, as far as cookie tins go.

And from reading the label, I can tell it was from a time before the five-digit zip code was put into place.
I like it. I'm going to fill it with something. Someday.
(sigh...)

Oh, So Pretty!

Today I stuck to my budget of $5.00.
I wasn't even trying too.
This was my favorite find of the day.
An embroidered linen tea towel.
love, Love, LOVE the boat motif!
And for a mere 50 cents.

You Light Up My Hallway

A few weeks ago I was carrying a baby chair through the hallway to quickly put it away when I knocked over a lamp that THGGM had placed on the bookcase in the hallway.
He really liked that lamp.
Today, his really good thrift find was a replacement.
I wonder how long before I knock this one over?

i'd like to teach the world to sing

Good finds!
I almost bought the Kitchen Table Bird Book at Barnes and Noble. It would have cost considerably more there.
The Needlework book has fabulous pictures and a macrame section - which made me wonder - whatever happened to macrame?
I also found a lot of music, for 10 and 25 cents.
Good finds, good times!

Favorite Find

My favorite find for today is -

drum roll please -

Another dome!

For one dollar.

If it were possible, I would 'dome' just about everything I own.

It just looks more interesting to me to see things under glass.

I love the look of old glass cloches, but for me the one dollar domes will have to do!

Back Into the Routine

It's been a busy few weeks.
My mom went into the hospital on May 7, and passed away on May 14.
She had been living in a nursing home for 2 1/2 years due to Alzheimer's, but her physical health had been very good.
Now I'm trying to get back to 'normal', whatever that is.
Today in an attempt to bring back normal, THGGM and I are following our usual Saturday routine.
Thrift shopping!
I found the little coffee pot for Famke. It was only sixty nine cents. Now all I have to do is trade her for the silver plated piece she has been using. ;D
