Christmas Eve Find

Christmas Eve found me with A LOT to do. But THGGM and I took a break to go out for breakfast and hit our favorite thrift store. I was surprised that they were open! While we passed crowds in parking lots we were just about the only people at the thrift store. THGGM had a 20% off punch card and I had my eyes set on this jumping horse. Somehow I had it in my head that I NEEDED this.
And, I have to tell you I was correct! On Christmas Day alone I got my $6.00 worth out of it. Even if we had sent it right back to the thrift store the next day, it was worth it. It's VERY sturdy and stood up to the furious bouncing of a good sized five year old and his two younger siblings.
Later we found a small one at an antique mall. It was in rough shape, yet was tagged for over sixty dollars.
I'm thinking we'll be keeping this for a while longer.

Thrifty Find

Bought an old ladder today. I've always wanted one.
Well, we HAVE one, but it's a bit too useful to use for decorative purposes.
This one is perfect.
For something.
I have at least five good ideas for it.
Maybe I'll have to try all five before I settle on just one.

Frame Embellishments

It's been ten days, and I haven't been inside of a thrift store.

Yet there is still plenty to photograph and comment on.

THGGM's family had MANY of these. I've made things out of them in the past, but this particular one was rather beat-up.

I've been looking at the line of Tim Holtz Grunge Board products at Michale's Craft Store, but the letter set that I was looking at was $10. I could envision them on these frames. The Grunge Board texture is great, and I was SO SURE that these would enhance the old stained card board frames.

Well, along came a 50% off coupon, and for five dollars the set of letters is mine!

Really. The letters and the frame work together nicely. The letters attached easily with an ordinary glue stick. They were a silvery grey to begin with, so no painting was necessary.

I like it.

Thrifty Stamping

These stamps are from the 80's.

I always wanted them.

Can't wait to start marking up all my books!

And, they look so well used they will match every other well loved rubber stamp that I own.
